Barnet is the beauty salon capital of the UK
FG_AUTHORS: Who Can Cut It?
There’s no excuse for hairy legs, streaky tans or chipped nails in Barnet, where there are more beauty businesses per head than anywhere else in the UK.
New research has revealed that there is a a beauty salon for ever 340 people in the London borough which is well above average.
The data from Companies House puts the national average at three salons for every 10,000 people, while in Barnet that figure equates to 10.8 salons.
Unsurprisingly London dominated the top 10, put together by Trinity Mirror, with Hackney found to have the second-highest concentration of salons at 10.1 beauty businesses per 10,000 people, followed by Harrow with 9.4.
South Buckinghamshire (8.4 per 10,000) and Brentwood, Essex (6.6 per 10,000) were the only two top-10 areas located outside of the capital.
The data only considers businesses registered with Companies House, which means that most mobile therapists will have been left out of the overall picture.
There seems to be a huge gap in the market in the Isles of Scilly, where is not one beauty-related business registered with Companies House.
The Isles of Scilly had no beauty-related business at all registered with Companies House to serve its small population of just over 2,000 people.
